Heart Safe Clinical Academy – Annual Community Engagement Initiatives:

As part of our ongoing commitment to public health, education, and international solidarity, Heart Safe Clinical Academy has proudly delivered a series of impactful and free community engagement programmes over the past year. These initiatives are embedded in our organisational ethos and continue annually as core components of our social value strategy.

Free Community Basic Life Support Sessions

Throughout the year, we have delivered accessible and inclusive Basic Life Support (BLS) training to the general public. These sessions are designed to empower individuals with lifesaving CPR skills, including the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), helping to build a more resilient and responsive local community. Delivered in both public and targeted settings, these free sessions are open to all and form the backbone of our preventative outreach work.

Project - Ukraine

‘Project Ukraine’ is Heart Safe Clinical Academy’s international collaboration programme, delivering essential support to hospitals, clinics, and orphanages across Ukraine.  After spending time personally in Ukraine,  setting up Trauma Care programmes for Hospital and pre-hospital clinicians, Our Clinical Director Tracey is extremely passionate about continuing to work in conjunction with national transport charities to support the supply of aid through a combination of community donations and the proceeds of our Heart Safe Shop, we collect and send critical clinical supplies, clothing, and toys to those affected by war and displacement. This initiative not only provides direct aid but also fosters global awareness and compassion within our local community.

Support for the Churn Project’s 'New Baby, New Life' Programme

Working in partnership with The Churn Project, we have supported new parents and carers by integrating specialist Paediatric Basic Life Support and emergency medical management training into the 'New Baby, New Life' sessions. These practical workshops equip families with the confidence and skills to respond effectively to common medical emergencies in infants and young children, contributing directly to safeguarding local children's health and wellbeing.

National Restart a Heart Day

As proud participants in the Restart a Heart campaign led by the Resuscitation Council UK, we engage annually in this national effort to improve survival rates from out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. On this day, we offer free CPR and Basic Life Support workshops across the community, helping to demystify emergency response and inspire confidence in lifesaving intervention. This event serves as a vital annual touchpoint for raising awareness and action.
