Why this, Why Now

Resilience is under strain - for young people, and for the community around them.

13.5%
of 16-24 year olds in the UK are not in education, employment of training - the highest failure since 2013

9%
of 16-24 year olds report feeling lonely often or always higher than any other age group

Local charities and community groups are increasingly stretched thin, with little spare capacity to build the resilient systems that let them weather a difficult year.

Heart Safe Community Academy already has the clinical education infrastructure and facilitator network to respond.

This Initiative turns that capability outward, into the community, on a not-for-profit basis.

Our approach

Four strands. One resilient community.

Resilience is built at every level at once — in young people, in the organisations that support them, in the employers who give them a future, and in the everyday fabric of community life. Each strand completes part of the ring.
