About the Course
The combined Cannulation and Venepuncture course will develop your knowledge in anatomy and physiology in relation to peripheral IV cannulation and venepuncture. It will deliver the knowledge and principles and the importance of aseptic non touch technique (ANTT), highlight the legal, professional and ethical issues related to peripheral IV cannulation and venepuncture. Summarise the key aspects of aftercare, including documentation and identify possible adverse incidences that may occur. This Course will provide you with the theory, knowledge, principles and technical skills which underpin the clinical art of Cannulation and Venepuncture. To be a valid & competent practitioner in this skill you must be assessed and signed off as competent in your professional log book by an experienced registered practitioner in the clinical settings, who is already trained, currently practicing and proficient in this skill.
